About meShiva Moghaddasi is a Richmond Hill based multidisciplinary artist and a recent graduate of OCAD U. She has been working as a freelance artist and designer since 2009 and has participated in several national and international exhibits.
Shiva’s work includes a variety of creative textile and clay art. Her work ranges from handmade tapestries, designing and making her own fabrics on floor looms to clay sculptures and installations.
Though her work Shiva brings attention to social issues such as oppression and abuse amongst the most vulnerable in our society. She uses her handmade textile in her installations and exhibits along with smart technology to convey her concept.
Her recent body of work exhibited at Toronto's Feminist Art Collective exhibit in Spring 2018 brings awareness to elderly abuse in healthcare institutions; while in her other work she had explored oppression forced on women and the notion of hushed and obedient women through her paintings on silk fabrics.
When not creating art, she works as a home stager improving home interior aesthetics using her artistic skills.
