SPARC Symposium 2018 Call for Proposals

Deadline: October 31, 2017

With SPARC Symposium 2018, May 24 - 27, 2018 in Cobalt, Ontario we are aiming once again to attract a broad spectrum of rural performing art creators, producers, presenters and animateurs from a wide mix of art forms (dance, media arts, theatre and music) with a variety of instrumentals (organizational management, audience development, inclusionary community engagement, etc.) to collaboratively consider their experience in order to improve it. We would like the SPARC Symposium 2018 to provide attendees with a range of practical tools that will translate to the ignition of performing arts in their own rural communities.

Emerging artists, curators, community activators, and groups are encouraged to submit to Gallery A and Art Lab. TMS Holiday Marketplace

Deadline: Before November 18, 2017

Description: On Saturday, November 18, the TMS (www.tmsschool.ca) will be hosting the first annual TMS Holiday Marketplace for the school and local community from 11:00 am to 4:00pm at the TMS Upper School (500 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, ON). The Marketplace will feature artisans and entrepreneurs selling unique locally-produced products.  TMS is currently seeking vendors to participate in the Marketplace in the following categories: Jewelry; Food; Fashion, knitwear and accessories; Paper, candles and body care; Original photography and artwork; and Holiday & seasonal giftware. The Varley Art Gallery of Markham - Artist Level Membership

The Varley Art Gallery of Markham introduced the new Artist Level membership, launching sumer 2015. Audition for ORIANA Women’s Choir

ORIANA Women’s Choir is seeking experienced singers to join us for our exciting 46th season. Under the direction of Mitchell Pady, ORIANA’s mission is to promote the diversity and beauty of women’s voices.

Highlights of our coming season include:

  • Our three concert series at Grace Church-on-the-Hill;
  • An exciting collaboration with Montreal’s Adleisia;
  • Participation in Choral Canada’s Podium Conference in beautiful St. John’s, NL.

Auditions will be held this September, by appointment.
ORIANA rehearses weekly at Earl Haig Secondary School.
All voice types (soprano and alto) are welcome.
