Art Meets Design Vaughan Juried Exhibition

In keeping with the transformational vision for the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre – the vibrant downtown core that will become the new heart of the city – artists from Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area are invited to interpret the theme of art meets design and submit original two-dimensional art for consideration in the City’s annual juried art exhibition. Depict the theme through any subject matter that resonates with meaning for you.

Winter Light Exhibition 2017

Ontario Place is seeking proposals from Ontario residents for illuminated sculptures that project light, shape light, transmit light, reflect light and/or contain light. Applicants are encouraged to explore and combine unconventional materials and methods that respond to light in different ways, ensuring the piece is visually successful during the day and night in our outdoor winter environment. The Winter Light Exhibition will celebrate the innovative and creative legacy of Ontario Place through the successful proposals received from across Ontario. Proposals will be considered for the Winter Light Exhibition that will run from December 2017 to March 2018 throughout the 15-acre West Island, Ontario Place; located at 955 Lakeshore Blvd, Toronto, ON. Call for Mural Artists

Calling all artists! Your artwork could be selected to be painted (by yourself) onto one of eight Bell Canada utility boxes in various neighbourhoods throughout Richmond Hill! The Richmond Hill Community Murals are a partnership between Richmond Hill, the Government of Canada, Community Matters Toronto, and the Bell Box Murals Project. Murals will be painted from September 11 to September 20, 2017. Preference will be given to artists who live or work in Richmond Hill.
Interested mural artists are invited to apply by 5:00 pm, July 27, 2017.

Call for Submissions - Emerging Creators Unit

The Emerging Creators Unit is accepting proposals for original 25-minute performance projects from queer or trans artists age 30 and under (age exceptions may apply – see below). Proposals can be for one of the following:
- An individual artist who wishes to create and perform a new work
- An individual artist who wishes to create and direct a new work to be performed by other artists
- A collaborative team of up to two creators who wish to collectively create, direct and/or perform a new work.
Audition for ORIANA Women’s Choir
ORIANA Women’s Choir is seeking experienced singers to join us for our exciting 46th season. Under the direction of Mitchell Pady, ORIANA’s mission is to promote the diversity and beauty of women’s voices.
Highlights of our coming season include:
- Our three concert series at Grace Church-on-the-Hill;
- An exciting collaboration with Montreal’s Adleisia;
- Participation in Choral Canada’s Podium Conference in beautiful St. John’s, NL.

Call To Artists for Participation: TAVES Exhibition October 13-17, 2017

TAVES (JOLT! Gallery), which is being promoted as “Canada’s Ultimate Consumer Electronics Show” has moved to the Toronto Congress Centre this year, and is scheduled for the weekend of October 13th – 15th . Last year’s attendance at the Sheraton Parkway was over 7,600 visitors. For 2016, the largest venue in the area was the Sheraton Parkway Hotel. We have outgrown this facility and after a great deal of research, we are now located at the Toronto Congress Centre. Parking is free and just off the highway. The audio-video event has expanded over the past few years to interactive robotic workshops for children, digital illustration and art, plus VR, with an expectation of over 10,000. Learn More

The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport is inviting arts and culture stakeholders to submit project proposals as part of the 2017-2018 Québec-Ontario Cultural Exchange Program. The Program is intended to strengthen the cultural dialogue and foster greater cultural collaboration between the two provinces. Open to organizations, ad hoc groups and collectives, eligible projects include activities that aim to broaden audiences for Ontario’s arts and culture. Special emphasis will be placed on projects that are digital in nature, such as the co-creation or co-presentation of digital content, or initiatives that allow cultural organizations to adapt to new digital realities. Artist Call for The Living City®

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), in collaboration with Crazy Dames and Evergreen, invites emerging, mid-career and established artists or artist collectives to propose new works for an art exhibit entitled ‘The Living City’.
Artworks will focus on the themes identified in The Living City Report Card – carbon, air quality, water, waste, land use and biodiversity. The report card is a progress report on environmental sustainability in the Toronto region and answers three important questions: How are we doing? Where have we excelled? On what issues do we need to work even harder?
Selected artists will be matched with an environmental expert who has worked on The Living City Report Card to learn about their research prior to the creation of the work, with the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration. Learn More

Myseum of Toronto is launching a call for proposals for its third annual Myseum Intersections festival which explores different perspectives on the city’s natural, cultural, and historic diversity. This year’s theme, Arrivals & Departures, asks applicants to explore Toronto’s many communities, cultures, and characters and highlight how different perspectives converge to create multiple visions of our city’s past, present and future.
