YRAC is a vital force in York Region’s creative landscape. As the only region-wide charitable arts service organization, we empower artists, arts organizations, and creative entrepreneurs to thrive. Through advocacy, education, programming, and strategic partnerships, we are building a more vibrant and inclusive arts, culture, and tourism scene across the nine municipalities of York Region.

The Role
We are seeking an organized, passionate, and proactive individual to join our team as an Administrative Coordinator. In this role, you will be a cornerstone of our operations, driving strategic initiatives while ensuring our day-to-day activities run smoothly.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a transformative period for YRAC. You will work closely with our Board of Directors and consultants to help shape a renewed mission and vision, develop a 3-year strategic plan, and support sustainable organizational restructuring.
You will also manage essential operational tasks, foster a collaborative workplace culture, and oversee projects and fundraising efforts that advance our mission to inspire and empower the creative community of York Region.
Core Responsibilities
- Operations & Administration:
- Oversee daily operations, including email management, IT troubleshooting, and the organization of shared folders.
- Provide operational updates and reports to the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with external bookkeeping services to support payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
- Strategic Planning & Special Projects:
- Work with the Board and consultants to develop a 3-year strategic plan, reimagining YRAC’s role and impact in the community.
- Manage the implementation and evaluation of Board-led initiatives, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
- Revenue Generation:
- Identify funding opportunities, including sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.
- Support fundraising efforts and cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors.
- Representation:
- Serve as an ambassador for YRAC, effectively communicating our mission, vision, and achievements to stakeholders, partners, and the public.
About You
You are a motivated, solutions-oriented professional with a passion for the arts and a drive to make an impact. You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy juggling multiple responsibilities with ease. You’re as comfortable strategizing big-picture goals as you are managing day-to-day details.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in administration, bookkeeping, and operational management.
- Proficiency in financial planning, including budget management and cash flow oversight.
- Skilled in Google Suite, Microsoft 365, and communication tools like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with IT troubleshooting and system management (entry-level).
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Knowledge of and passion for York Region’s arts, culture, and tourism sectors.
- Experience in marketing and data management systems is an asset.
- Ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration within a team.
- Bilingualism in French and English is a bonus.
